i have become the crazy dog lady...

if how i treat my dogs is any indication of how i will treat my kids, then unfortunately i think my children will be in years of therapy. even the boyfriends parents though i was a little nutty for this one when i told them. i'm typically the one behind the camera snapping away like a crazy lady, but last weekend i treated myself to a professional...li from fat orange cat studios came to do a photo shoot with the girls. you may remember her from my post about pet photographers.

of course i had to get the girls all gussied up for their big modeling debut. so i took them to b.y.o.d. in south boston to get their hair done (just a quick bath, blow dry, eat cleaning and nail trimming). and obviously they needed something new to wear, so i bought them these matching collars from bark slope...

and then they were ready for their closeups...

li also managed to capture the girls 'playing' under the dining room table. they do this often, and it looks worse than it really is, but in this particular picture maples jaws look like they are ready to bite penny's head off...

we started the shoot indoors and then moved to a few different locations outside (the commonwealth avenue mall & the esplanade along the charles river). they girls were very good for the 2 hours that li was photographing them. however, li likes to get a lot of candid shots which was hard because all the dogs wanted to do was either follow me or her around, making it difficult for 'action' shots. i guess i never realized what loyal creatures these two are...but the afternoon made me very proud of them and love them even more than i already do...so yeah, my kids are in for A LOT of therapy in their lives.

i'm still waiting to see the rest of the shots, but check out li's blog in the mean time. she very talented, and a super kind person...the dogs loved her, when they weren't trying to run her over during their 'playing'.

  2. I didn't realize you had a blog! Thanks for this mention. I had a blast - and an awesome workout - photographing Maple and Penny. Your proofs should be up VERY SOON!
